Born and raised in Chicago, Jon McDonald came of age surrounded by the people, clubs and neighborhoods that shaped the sound of electric blues.
Over a career spanning more than five decades, Jon has performed alongside legendary musicians, helped form Mississippi Heat and spent more than a decade touring and recording with Magic Slim & the Teardrops.
But Jon’s story has never been about chasing the spotlight. It is about listening closely, playing honestly and carrying the music forward.
